On February 25, 2022, the European Union published the final assessment report for the exemption of Pack 24 of the RoHS 2.0 directive. The report evaluates and evaluates applications for extensions of exemptions from Sections 5(b), 18(b), 18(b)-I, 24, 29, 32, 34 of Appendix III and Section 34 of Appendix IV. Suggestions are given. PACK 24 evaluation items are all related to lead content, involving glass, phosphor catalyst, solder and other materials. This final evaluation report adds two new clauses 18(b)-II and 24(a).

The Pack 24 consultation project was officially launched on January 19, 2021. The EU will publish the final exemption clause update directive in the Official Journal (EUOJ) based on the recommendations of this assessment report. Enterprises can refer to the contents listed in this assessment report to make products. Adjustments to respond to regulatory changes in advance.

The recommendations and validity periods recommended in the evaluation report are as follows:

        Reminder

The update of RoHS exemption clauses has a great impact on the electrical and electronic related industries, especially whether some exemption clauses frequently used by enterprises are extended or not, which may directly affect the production process and business activities of enterprises. In order to ensure the compliance of entering the EU market, ZRLK recommends that relevant companies always pay attention to the updates of the exemption clauses of the RoHS Directive, make reasonable arrangements for production plans and material substitution, and avoid compliance problems caused by the expiration of exemptions for products exported to Europe.
