To reduce the burden on businesses in complying with the UKCA labelling regulations, and at the same time alleviate the potential increase in demand for conformity assessment services by Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) at the end of the year. On 20 June 2022, the UK government announced the following updated regulations:
? Conformity assessment documents for the CE marking completed before 31 December 2022 can be used directly as the basis for the UKCA marking without re-testing. This provision is valid until the expiration of its CE-RED type confirmation certificate or until December 31, 2027, whichever comes first.
? No re-testing or re-UKCA marking is necessary for existing stock products that have been imported into the UK market.
? Spare parts imported for the repair, replacement or maintenance of products or systems already on the UK market may still apply the regulatory requirements that were applicable when the product or system was originally imported into the UK market.
? Until December 31, 2025, companies will continue to be allowed to choose to mark the UKCA mark on the nameplate of the product itself or on the documents accompanying the product. From January 1, 2026, it can only be marked on the nameplate of the product itself.
? For products imported from the EEA (European Economic Area), until December 31, 2025, importer information can also continue to be accepted on the accompanying documents of the product. From January 1, 2026, it can only be marked on the product itself. Unless the size of the product is too small or the shape of the product does not allow it, the logo is acceptable on the accompanying documents.
? For products imported into the UK from regions other than the EEA, according to the original regulations, from January 1, 2023, the importer information needs to be marked on the label of the product body. Marking on accompanying documents is acceptable unless the size or shape of the product is too small to allow it.
The above adjusted requirements do not apply to medical equipment, construction products, transportable pressure equipment, ropeways, unmanned aerial systems, rail products and marine equipment. Relevant departments are making specific arrangements for these special industries. Updates to relevant import labelling and testing will be announced before the end of the year.

The UKCA mark is a mandatory product mark only used in the British Great Britain market. It is used for certain goods put on the British Great Britain market after the Brexit transition period, including products currently subject to the EU CE mark, such as personal protective equipment, medical equipment, etc.
