        Author:中認聯(lián)科 time:2022-08-29 Ctr:1627

        In accordance with the EU General Product Safety Directive (2001/95/EC), the European Commission presented a draft Commission Decision on 5 August 2022 on the safety requirements to be met by European standards for certain children's and related products. The draft is undergoing public consultation, and interested parties have until September 2, 2022 to submit comments accordingly.

        The decision applies to certain children's products (excluding toys) to the following extent:

        (a) children's products intended for children to wear;

        (b) children's products designed to aid or protect sitting functions, sleeping functions, bathing functions, body care, relaxation, transport and early learning;

        (c) children's products designed to facilitate feeding, drinking or sucking by children;

        (d) children's products that provide one or more of the functions listed in points (a), (b) and (c) and one or more other functions;

        (e) Products related to children's products, including the following:

        Products and accessories specifically designed for use with or in conjunction with the children's products described in points (a) to (d);

        Products that are used and installed or assembled by adults, are easily accessible to children or provide protection for children.

        The draft decision clarifies the requirements that children's products should meet, including 28 safety requirements including chemical hazards, flammable hazards, electrical hazards, microbial hazards, and acoustic hazards.
