        China

        The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China issued a notice on October 13th, 2023, announcing that WLAN devices with public IP address allocation function must support IPv6 protocol before they can be imported or sold in China. The notice will be implemented on December 1, 2023. WLAN equipment produced or imported before December 1, 2023 can still be sold and used.

        India

        The Telecommunications Engineering Center of India (TEC) issued a notice on September 27th, 2023, extending the compulsory certification date of MTCTE Phase III and Phase IV products.

        ★ The compulsory certification date of 32 products (ER) in the third and fourth stages listed in Annex I will be extended from July 1, 2023 to October 1, 2023.

        ★ The compulsory certification date of 12 products (ER) in the third and fourth stages listed in Annex II is extended from July 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024.

        ★ The latest date for the technical parameters of the products listed in Annex III to receive the test report issued by ILAC accredited laboratories in non-border sharing countries has been extended from June 30, 2023 to December 31, 2023.

        Thailand

        On October 6, 2023, the Office of the Consumer Protection Committee of Thailand (OCPB) issued a notice with the theme of "Personal computers and computer equipment identified as commodities subject to label control" through the website of the World Trade Organization (WTO). This notice came into effect on November 1, 2023.

        Main contents:

        1. Applicable products

        ★ Personal computers and computer equipment are specified as commodities subject to label control;

        ★ Suitable for personal computers, including notebook computers and portable computers, and computer equipment that is not assembled together as equipment.

        2. The labels of commodities subject to label control shall contain words, graphics, artificial marks or images as appropriate according to the specific circumstances, and shall not cause misunderstanding of the nature of the products, and must be explained in Thai or in a foreign language with Thai comments to understand the meaning of the pictures, and the words and images shall be clear and distinguishable. The detailed information of the goods controlled by the label must be clear, such as the category or type of the product, the name or trademark, the name of the country of production, the use, the price, the date of production and the warning.

        3. The label content requirements of personal computers and computer equipment are clearly defined.

        Vietnam

        On October 10, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Vietnam issued "Bands Planning of IMT Mobile Communication System in Vietnam in 1920-1980 MHz and 2110-2170 MHz" (CircularNo. 12/2023/TT-BTTTT). This notice shall come into force as of November 27, 2023.

        Brazil

        On September 6th, 2023, the National Telecommunication Bureau of Brazil (ANATEL) launched a public consultation on the new charger regulations. The new charger regulations will replace Ato 5159-2022 and Ato 3481-2019.

        The consultation will be closed on November 14, 2023. The new regulations are expected to take effect on April 18, 2024.

        Singapore

        On July 27th, 2023, IMDA of Singapore announced that the registration and sales of 3G-ONLY mobile terminals and mobile/smart phones that do not support VoLTE will be terminated, and IMDA announced that 3G services will be stopped on July 31st, 2024.

        1. Please note the following timetable:

        A. From November 1, 2023, the Information and Communication Media Development Bureau (IMDA) will stop accepting new registrations and renewals of 3G-only mobile phones and smartphones that do not support VoLTE.

        B. From February 1, 2024, it is no longer allowed to sell 3G-only mobile phones for local use and smartphones that do not support VoLTE.

        C. From July 31, 2024: 3G networks and services will be stopped in Singapore.

        2. For brand owners/manufacturers, please pay attention to the following operations:

        A. When selling mobile terminals that only support 3G and smart phones that do not support VoLTE, inform customers that 3G services will stop from July 31, 2024;

        B. For customers who purchase 4G or 5G mobile phones/smartphones, please ensure that VoLTE voice is enabled, or assist customers to enable VoLTE on new devices, and encourage them to make test calls to ensure that voice calls can be made through VoLTE;

        C with the stop of 3G network, voice call services such as emergency numbers can only be conducted through VoLTE. Therefore, please also ensure that the sold mobile phones can make emergency calls on the local operator's network.
