On June 24, 2022, Australia released the new standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2022 and announced that it will take effect immediately. The standard will be enforced on June 24, 2025, replacing the old standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2018.

        Transitional arrangements and compliance requirements

Before June 24, 2025, the two versions of the standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2018 and AS/NZS 62368.1:2022 will be valid in parallel. That is to say, during the transition period, companies can choose to certify their products according to the old or new version of the standard. However, from June 24, 2025, AS/NZS 62368.1:2018 will be invalid due to being replaced.

        Special reminder:

◆ Products planned to be put on the market after the transition period must comply with the requirements of AS/NZS 62368.1:2022.

◆ Products that fail to update their certification in a timely manner may face the risk of market access restrictions or being required to be recalled.

The new standard AS/NZS 62368.1:2022 corresponds to the third edition of IEC 62368-1:2018. The IECEE official website also announced the Australian national differences of AS/NZS 62368.1:2022 based on IEC 62368-1:2018 for use in CB certification.
