On November 16, 2021, the Taiwan Bureau of Standards (BSMI) issued an announcement announcing that the test standards for air purifiers will be revised from now on, and the energy efficiency test standard CNS16098 (version 108) will be added; the implementation of this announcement means that air purifier products are in Before entering the Taiwan market, it is necessary to meet the safety regulations, EMC, ROHS and energy efficiency standards to obtain the BSMI certificate.

The revised standard will be implemented from the date of announcement, that is, on November 16, 2021. The standard before the revision will be discontinued from January 1, 2023. During the transition period, the two sets of standards will be used in parallel. During this period, the BSMI certificate will be processed as follows :
◆ Issued old certificates: You need to complete the standard update before December 31, 2022, and apply for a new certificate; if the certificate is not renewed within the time limit, the certificate will be invalid.
◆ Application for new certificate and certificate renewal: either the standard before the amendment or the standard after the amendment can be used to apply for issuance, but the old standard certificate needs to complete the standard update before December 31, 2022. The certificate will be invalid.
Important note: From January 1, 2023, Taiwanese importers need to submit BSMI certificate, safety report, energy efficiency test report to the central competent authority to apply for energy efficiency rating, and post an energy efficiency label (as shown in the figure below) on the front of the product body Controlled air purifier products can only be imported in obvious places or on the product manual.
